Who we are 3D Riggers (Pty) Ltd, 5 Babbler Place, Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, South Africa, runs the website https://3driggers.co.za. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer is Jaco, the owner, and you can reach him at admin@3driggers.co.za.
What we collect, and why
- When you send an enquiry through our website form: the details you fill in, such as your name, email address, phone number, what you need, a link to your model, the quantity and when you need it. We use them to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to quote, make and deliver your order. We do not collect your IP address or browser details through the form.
- When you create an account to request a quote: your name, email address, company and phone number, and the models you upload. We use them to work out a price, send you a quote, make and deliver your order, and show you how it is going.
- When you email us: the messages you send, which stay in our mailbox.
We use your information only for these purposes. We do not sell it. We only send you news or offers if you have separately said yes, and you can say no again at any time.
Your consent When you send an enquiry or create an account, we ask you to agree to this policy, and we record that you did and when. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We then stop using your information, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Where your information is kept Today, on our own computer at our workshop in South Africa. We plan to move it to a hosted service in the European Union (Ireland). POPIA allows information to go to a country that protects it adequately, and the European Union’s data protection law (GDPR) is generally regarded as doing so.
Who else sees it Only the services we need to do the work, each under its own terms:
- our website and email host, Hostinger;
- Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that forms are filled in by a person, and collects information about your visit for that purpose;
- OpenAI (United States), an AI writing service that may be given the words of your enquiry to draft our reply. A person at 3D Riggers reads and approves every message before it is sent to you;
- our payment page, when you pay online, which is our shop’s checkout. We never see or keep your card details;
- a courier, when we send your order, which receives your name, address and phone number.
How long we keep it
- An enquiry that never became work, and our emails about it: 12 months, then deleted.
- A model you uploaded that was never quoted: 90 days after upload. One that was quoted but never ordered: 90 days after the quote.
- A model for an order: one year, so we can reprint it.
- Invoices and records the law requires: as long as the law requires.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your rights You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Write to our Information Officer at the address above. If you have an account on our quote portal, you can also sign in and use Ask us to forget me: we then delete your details, your sign-in and the models you sent, and keep only the figures of any quote or order, without your name.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: https://inforegulator.org.za.
Cookies, logs and advertising Like most websites, ours uses cookies to remember your preferences and to understand which pages are visited. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a visit) to keep the site secure and working. We advertise with Google Ads, and Google may use cookies to measure how well our adverts work. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, and manage Google’s advertising settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
Children Our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with its date, and ask for your consent again before we use your information in a new way.
